2020 Toyota Camry vs 2020 Toyota Avalon

Serving Enid, OK

Are you trying to decide which Toyota sedan is better suited for you? At Northcutt Toyota, our customers commonly ask us about the difference between the Camry and the Avalon. The Camry is a midsize sedan that has almost four decades of history impressing local drivers. The Avalon is a full-size sedan that is Toyota's flagship model, and its history dates back to 1994. These are only some of the many differences that you should learn about before you purchase your next Toyota sedan.

Performance

The 2020 Camry is available with two gas-powered engines as well as a hybrid powertrain. The entry-level Camry engine is a 2.5-liter, 4-cylinder engine connected to an 8-speed auto transmission, and this match produces 203 horsepower. The higher-level gas engine in the Camry is a 3.5-liter, V6 engine that delivers 301 horsepower with an 8-speed auto transmission. In comparison, the Avalon is available with one gas powertrain and one hybrid powertrain across all trims. The only gas engine offered for the Avalon is the same 301-horsepower engine that you will find in the Camry.

Appearance

While the Camry and the Avalon are close cousins, they have striking design differences. The Camry is a smaller vehicle with a pointed nose and aerodynamic profiling. The nose is dressed up by a scooped, body-colored feature that runs through the black grille. This small grille is placed over a large air vent that has a black cover, and that spans across most of the lower nose. The inner corner of the LED headlights carries sharply in toward the center of the nose. In comparison, the 2020 Toyota Avalon has a modern profile with a sophisticated stance. The grille and nose are rounded rather than pointed. The grille and air vent are integrated into one large piece that holds horizontal accent lines. Also, the Avalon's LED headlights have multiple elements for personality.

Features

Both of these beautiful sedans are well-appointed throughout their trim lines, but the flagship sedan understandably has a few additional features. For example, both sedans are available with Amazon Alexa, the Remote Connect app features, auto climate control system, wireless charging, a backup camera with guidelines, a digital instrumentation screen, leather seating with power adjustments in the front seat, dynamic radar cruise control, and many other items. In the Avalon, you may also appreciate a premium sound system with JBL speakers, a dynamic navigation system, active noise control, engine sound enhancement, and a few other coveted items.

The 2020 Camry and the 2020 Avalon are both beautiful cars that are well-equipped from trim to trim, and they both have impressive capabilities on the road. To compare the trims for both models in greater detail, make plans to visit with our sales associates at Northcutt Toyota.
